Search Library AXC v4.0 for Windows 3.1, Windows 9x, NT & 2000 by Cognitronix

The Search Library performs a search of disks on a system based on all possible file attributes. Text searches may be specified with regular expression wild cards, exact or fuzzy matches. Boolean equations, and four kinds of proximity searching are supported.

The Search Library DLL works similar to the common dialog dll. The user specifies the search parameters, along with a callback function, in a structure which is passed to the dll. The DLL calls the callback function, whenever it finds a file or string which matches the specified criteria. It also responds to status and control functions such as "IsSearching" and "StopSearch".

The structure which is passed to the DLL has parameters for every possible way to specify files including: upper and lower limits for size, creation date, modification date, and access date; percent text fuzziness, proximity type, grep string, true wildcard file spec, and wildcard path spec. New, the library now supports searching for the owner of a file on NTFS volumes. Boolean proximity searches filter the text found by proximity to key words in the same line, in the same file, between delimiters or within a count of characters. It can even search for files and text inside ZIP (PKZIP v1.1 & v2.0) compressed files.

New! the Search Library now includes an 32 bit AXC listview and 16 bit VBX listbox control interface.
